Now that rotation doesn't recreate the activity, the class is the SurfaceHolder.Callback plus the hardware scaling logic, and the rest had outlived its purpose: - The deferred-surface-while-paused workaround. Also what started the render thread twice on resume. - The "bad orientation" workaround, which called recreate(). - The deprecated system UI visibility listener, which only chose between getMetrics and getRealMetrics, and the view size overrode that whenever it mattered anyway. - The coalescing of display measurement updates, and updateDpi, which updateDisplayMeasurements does itself. Before the first layout the display size now comes from getRealMetrics. It only feeds the first-run config defaults. Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5.1 <noreply@anthropic.com>
