Henrik RydgårdandClaude Opus 5.5 83df04686c sceNet: Register sceNetApctl_lib, for the VSH's network connection screen
pspnet_apctl.prx exports the internal handler, scan and BSS functions to
the VSH under sceNetApctl_lib (as listed by its 6.61 export table). We had
them, but only under sceNetApctl, so the XMB's netconf plugin got an
unresolved import and the browser and online manuals stopped at 8002013A
before their Network Connection screen.

Henrik RydgårdandClaude Opus 5.5 add84fb36f VSH: sceVaudio_driver, sceVaudioChReserveBuffering and the display panel ID
The VSH's video player outputs sound through vshbridge.prx, which imports
sceVaudio under its driver name, so every sceVaudioOutputBlocking went
nowhere. Register the same functions as sceVaudio_driver. The player
reserves its channel with sceVaudioChReserveBuffering, which in vaudio.prx
is sceVaudioChReserve with a flag set; treat it as that.

It also polls sceDisplay_driver_996881D2 through vshbridge.prx, and skips
setting up its picture output when it's 0. display_02g.prx's init sets
that from the LCD panel type in IdStorage (0x0103000B for type 1,
0x0103020F for type 2), so it's never 0 on a PSP.

Henrik RydgårdandClaude Opus 5.5 efaf5e117c HLE: One row per function in the kernel NID alias table
Sony renumbered the kernel NIDs all at once at a few releases, so the
table now has a column per generation (6.60-6.61, 6.30-6.39, 6.00-6.20,
5.01-5.55, 3.95-4.05) and a row per function, instead of an entry per
old NID. A new firmware generation is a new column.

Henrik RydgårdandClaude Opus 5.5 2924e3a090 POPS: Boot converted PBPs with firmware 4.05
The user modules started after the manager now come from the firmware's
own boot configuration (pspbtcnf.bin's POPS mode), since they differ by
version: 4.05's pafmini.prx needs heaparea2.prx first. 6.60's also
lists common_util.prx, which wasn't started before.

4.05 renumbered the kernel NIDs again. Its aliases are checked like
5.55's, and the sysreg ones by what they do to the registers: the call
sites got five of those wrong. Its manager allocates from a pool with
the kernel's sceKernelAllocateFpl, which stays unresolved for kernel
modules (see ThreadManForKernel), so only the manager's import gets the
user one. scePower_driver gets 6.60's clock frequency NID, which 6.20's
and 4.05's old one now map to.

Henrik RydgårdandClaude Opus 5.5 5460e75265 POPS: Boot converted PBPs with firmware 5.55
5.55's manager is an older design: the kernel hands it the version key
(there's no license probe to replace), and the emulator opens the game
through a manager export that first looks up its license. A converted
PBP has none, so that lookup now returns success, as the MAC checks do.
Store games still need 6.00 or later, so the 5.55 layout only matches
for converted PBPs.

Its code changed too much to map every import by call site, so its NID
aliases are only the ones used here, each checked by its call site (and
the sysreg ones by lowio.prx's code).

The emulator's disc read call is now found by the block size next to
it, which 5.55's pops.prx passes from the other side of the jal: the
same single site as before in every 6.x emulator.

Henrik RydgårdandClaude Opus 5.5 23bd32273f POPS: Boot with firmware 6.20
6.20 renumbered the kernel NIDs again, so it gets aliases of its own,
mapped through 6.30's from the call sites in popsman.prx. Its manager has
the same code at another layout, and its scePopsManLoadModule has a
bigger frame (it also picks a model-specific emulator module), so the
layouts now carry that function's frame size for the check.

Henrik RydgårdandClaude Opus 5.5 321020a852 HLE: Resolve firmware 6.30-6.39's kernel NIDs through an alias table
Sony renumbered the kernel NIDs between firmware versions, so a module
from 6.3x imports the functions we implement under 6.60's NIDs by other
ones. Rather than a second table entry per function, an alias table maps
the older NID to the implemented one, and GetHLEFuncIndexByNib() falls
back on it. Savestates store the table index, which this doesn't touch.

The 6.30-6.39 entries cover what popsman.prx imports (the same NIDs in
all of them). They come from matching the call sites in popsman.prx's
6.39 and 6.60 builds, whose code is the same, and agree with matching
the exporting modules' code where that's unchanged.

6.30/6.31's popsman.prx also takes the semaphore the main CPU and the ME
share through sysreg calls, which 6.60's does inline: implemented here as
lowio.prx does them.

Francisco José García García 926bf9d390 POPS: Converted PS1 EBOOTs, as CFW's popcorn plugin runs them
EBOOTs made with popstation and similar tools have a plain disc image of
raw DEFLATE blocks, where a store game has a PGD in the emulator's own
format, and no MACs. Like popcorn: the emulator's decoder calls go to its
scePopsMan_0090B2C8 import, which now inflates; its CD audio track index
check always takes the full-length branch, as the converted image adds CD
audio tracks the index doesn't count; and the manager's two MAC checks
pass.

A converted EBOOT is one whose disc image doesn't start with a PGD.
Crash Bandicoot is playable.

Henrik RydgårdandClaude Opus 5.5 0b1e1a9bb3 POPS: Boot PS1 EBOOTs through the firmware's POPS manager
A PS1 EBOOT now boots the installed firmware's POPS manager
(flash0:/kd/popsman.prx), which loads its PS1 emulator (pops_0Xg.prx) for
the game. Load_PSP_POPS stands in for the kernel's reboot into its POPS
configuration: it loads the manager and that configuration's user modules,
and a helper thread makes the kernel init's scePopsManLoadModule(path, 0)
call. InitForKernel reports a POPS boot from the memory stick.

The emulator plays its sound on the Media Engine, so a PS1 boot always
gets the emulated ME, whatever the homebrew setting says, and is refused
on platforms that can't emulate it. The manager boots the ME with its own
code (POPS's reboot has no me_wrapper, so Sony's ME firmware isn't booted
for it), and its ME loop runs there unchanged, playing through the audio
block.

Everything in POPS that reaches hardware registers is kernel code, so a
POPS boot leaves the ME's kernel mode stopgap (g_kernelModeAnywhere) off:
7% fewer host instructions in Crash Bandicoot.

The manager also drives the GE directly: its stall register and FINISH
status are an MMIO device that only answers during a POPS boot, and stall
writes extend the HLE GPU's current list.

The 6.60 and 6.61 popsman.prx and pops_01g/02g.prx have the same code. The
manager's is checked when it's loaded, and any other one fails the boot
with a message. Savestates include the boot's threads.

Reading a game's disc image needs the next two changes.

Henrik RydgårdandClaude Opus 5.5 25c6f15e56 ME: Sony's ME image, the SceMeRpc sysevent handler, the VME's status
What the firmware sets up for the ME at boot, which mcidclan's custom-core
libraries rely on, at kernel init when the ME is emulated:

- Sony's ME image at 0x88300000, as me_wrapper loads it: meimg.img on a
PSP-1000, me_t2img.img on later models, from the installed firmware's
flash0:/kd/resource, decrypted and KL4E-decompressed (only the first of
its two streams, the code). Custom-core calls functions in it, picking
per-model address tables by the word at 0x18. Without the firmware it's
  logged and left out.
- A "SceMeRpc" sysevent handler record, which sceKernelReferSysEventHandler
(new, sceSysEventForKernel) returns, and custom-core takes over.

Also the VME's control registers (0xBCC00000), kept, with the status at
0x10 reading as done: custom-core's ME startup writes 1 there and waits.

mcidclan's custom-core poc, hw-mutex, gu-shared-list and exceptions
samples now run.

Henrik RydgårdandClaude Opus 5.5 8af7643efa ME: sceSysreg_driver's ME reset and clock calls, MMIO copies in sysclib
The calls homebrew starts the ME with (1.50's NIDs, and 3.71's for the
ME's reset and bus clock) set or clear a bit of the reset or bus clock
register the way the firmware's driver does, returning whether it was
set. Only those NIDs, so a later firmware's lowio.prx keeps its own
exports under --vsh.

Kernel modules copy their ME code to the boot page with SysclibForKernel's
memcpy, which now goes through MMIO for hardware addresses like the
replaced memcpy already did (MMIO::Copy, shared).

pspsdk's mebasic, MElib's test, PSP Bunny, snes9xTYL and ProTrekkr's test
now start their ME.

Henrik RydgårdandClaude Opus 5.5 33b6229a6f HLE: Add sceKernelQueryLoadCoreCB
The firmware's semawm.prx (6.61), which PMP Mod and psp-me-bench load, decrypts
code that walks LoadCore's registered-library hash buckets at the start of this
block, looking for libraries a custom firmware would add. We don't keep those
structures, so it gets an empty table in kernel memory, made on first use and
kept in the savestate.

Henrik RydgårdandClaude Opus 5.5 7475563a3b HLE: Register ExceptionManagerForKernel, sceCtrlSetButtonIntercept
ExceptionManagerForKernel's table was never registered, so kernel
modules importing sceKernelRegisterDefaultExceptionHandler (LightMP3's
exception.prx) were left with an unresolved import. It now holds only
that one: registering the unimplemented entries would take them from
the firmware's exceptionman.prx under --vsh. Nothing could have saved
the old layout, since it was never registered.

sceCtrl_driver's sceCtrlSetButtonIntercept hides buttons from user mode
readers, which Daedalus does with the system buttons games don't get
here anyway: a no-op. Daedalus's Media Engine build needs both.

Henrik RydgårdandClaude Opus 5.5 7dd1475ed7 HLE: Pass the MIPSState to syscalls and their implementations
HLEFunc and ReplaceFunc now take the MIPSState they run on. The dispatch
paths (both interpreters and every JIT backend) pass in the state they
belong to, and CallSyscall*, hleFinishSyscall and the HLE mips call
machinery use it instead of currentMIPS.

The wrappers in FunctionWrappers.h take the function as `auto` and call it
through HLECall, which also accepts an implementation with an extra leading
MIPSState * parameter and passes the state to it. Any other signature still
fails to compile, as before. PARAM/RETURN now refer to a local `mips`.

The HLE functions (and replacement functions) that used currentMIPS now take
the state that way. Callers outside a syscall's own frame - CoreTiming
events, the adhoc matching thread, dialogs, PPGe, the debugger UIs - pass
currentMIPS or &mipsr4k explicitly. The kernel's thread internals still use
currentMIPS.

Henrik RydgårdandClaude Opus 5.5 9fa53c8337 HLE: Add sceKernelSetParamSfo and sceMePowerControlAvcPower
The VSH's sceVshBridge_Driver calls both when launching a game, and some
firmware versions give up on the launch unless they succeed (5.xx for the
first, 2.00 for the second). Neither has anything to do here: our HLE
LoadExec reads the PBP itself, and there's no AVC decoder to power.

Added under the NIDs whose names are known: sceKernelSetParamSfo's old,
5.xx and 6.60 NIDs (from DC-M33's NID resolver, Adrenaline's NID table and
uOFW), and sceMePowerControlAvcPower's old and 6.60 NIDs (jpcsp's
psplibdoc, uOFW). Appended at the end of SysMemForKernel, and
sceMePower_driver registered last.

Henrik Rydgård 5c9eda7cd8 KDebugForKernel: implement Kprintf
Outrun 2006's USB kernel module calls it on a failed sceUsbbdRegister,
so booting the game printed "Unimplemented function Kprintf". It's the
kernel's debug printf - on hardware it goes to whatever
sceKernelRegisterKprintfHandler() installed, which on a retail PSP is
the serial port, so this is just debug output the game shipped with.
We format it and log it, which is the useful thing to do with it.

The vararg walker that sysclib's sprintf/snprintf already had is now
HLEFormatPrintf() in HLE.cpp, so there's one of these rather than a
second copy. It takes the index of the first vararg (counting a0 as 0)
instead of an offset from a2, which is the same mapping written in
absolute terms - sprintf passes 2 and snprintf 3, where they passed
0 and 1 before.

Kprintf replaces the existing nullptr entry in the KDebugForKernel
table, so no indices move and savestates are unaffected.

Henrik RydgårdandClaude Opus 5 184c2cb4ea Implement sceVideocodec, the ME's H.264 decoding interface
The last piece mpeg.prx needs from us. It decodes through AvcDecoder and writes
the result where sceMpegbase expects to read it: for type 0, the eight-buffer
tiled layout, produced here as the exact inverse of the reader added with the
colour conversion. Type 1 hands back plain planar YUV instead.

The descriptor mpeg.prx passes in is empty - on hardware the Media Engine owns
the frame buffers and reports back where it put them - so they are allocated
here and their addresses filled in, and sceMpegbase can recover the full set
from that allocation afterwards. The list is only read as addresses once it
holds addresses: a caller that leaves small integers there used to take us
straight into a memory exception.

Both those buffers and the block sceVideocodecGetEDRAM hands out live in a
model of the ME's own 2MB of embedded DRAM rather than in either PSP partition,
with a BlockAllocator carving it up. The CPU can't reach ME memory on hardware:
mpeg.prx keeps the EDRAM value and hands it back without ever dereferencing it,
and it has no way to say where the frame buffers should go - sceVideocodecSetMemory
is given a frame size and a buffer count, 480, 272 and 2 for a full-screen movie.
Taking either from the game would push its own allocations around or spend memory
a real PSP never spends, so sceMpegbase reads the frame through a host pointer
into that block instead of through Memory::.

A game can hold several contexts at once - Silent Hill Origins runs two, one
that owns the EDRAM and one that does every decode - so the decoder, the frame
buffers and the EDRAM address are per context, keyed by context address the way
sceAudiocodec keys its decoders. The EDRAM itself the firmware tracks in the
caller's context struct and nowhere else, including refusing a second request
rather than replacing the first, as videocodec_260.prx shows, so we do the same.

Registered at the end of RegisterAllModules, since a savestate stores the
syscall opcode encoding that order.

GetSEI, ScanHeader, GetFrameCrop and the two unnamed NIDs return 0 and log -
mpeg.prx calls them but nothing yet shows what they need to return, and
guessing seemed worse than being loud about it.

Untested: nothing calls this until mpeg.prx is loaded, which is the next step.

Henrik RydgårdandClaude Opus 5 7c6f9d18b8 sceMpegbase: implement the colour conversion functions
Five of the six functions in this module were registered as nullptr, so any
caller reaching them got nothing. mpeg.prx needs all of them, and this is the
first of the pieces required before the real module can run in place of our
sceMpeg HLE.

The module gets its own file at the same time. It was a tail of sceMpeg.cpp,
which is long enough already, and everything below is new code for it.

sceMpegBaseCscAvc and sceMpegBaseCscAvcRange convert the ME's decoded output to
RGB. The 48-byte descriptor holds the frame size in macroblocks at 0x10 and
0x14 - it appears at 0x00/0x04 too, but scaled differently depending on which
path built it, so the second pair is the one every caller agrees on - and the
four luma buffers at 0x20. What they point at is not planar: luma arrives as
16-pixel-wide vertical strips alternating between buffers on every other line,
and chroma as Cb/Cr pairs interleaved across four more. All eight are untangled
into planes once per frame before converting, which keeps the pixel loop
readable.

sceMpegBaseCscInit carries the default buffer width for callers that pass zero.
sceMpegBaseCscSetPixelMode (0x0530BE4E - the official name isn't known) carries
the output format, in mpegbase's own numbering rather than the GE's: mpeg.prx
gets it by indexing a table of {1, 2, 3, 0} with the pixel mode the game gave
sceMpegAvcDecodeMode, making 0 ABGR8888 and 2 ABGR5551. Read as a GE mode it
turned Thrillville's black into blue.

sceMpegBaseYCrCbCopy copies the descriptor but not the buffers it points at,
and says so in its log - nothing seen so far needs more, and inventing the
buffer copy without something to test it against seemed worse than a note.

Behaviour is cross-checked against JPCSP, which implements all of these.

Henrik RydgårdandClaude Opus 5 e7e8d362f0 Add sceResmgr, which is what the VSH uses to decrypt the XMB index
Found the cause of the red error screen the VSH ends on. Every resource load in
the boot succeeds - fonts, all the plugin RCOs, topmenu_icon.rco - and then:

  sceIoOpen(flash0:/vsh/etc/index_02g.dat) -> fd 8
  sceIoRead(8, 092a2d40, 496)
  sceIoClose(8)
unresolved import sceResmgr/9dc14891, called from 'vsh_module'
  sceKernelExitDeleteThread(1)

index_02g.dat is the index of what the XMB displays, and it is encrypted (it
starts "PSPsysGP"). sceResmgr_9DC14891 decrypts it. There was no sceResmgr module
at all, so the call trapped, the index stayed encrypted, and the ScePafJob thread
building the top menu exited - a shell with everything loaded and nothing to show.

This adds the module and the three tags it needs (0x0B2B90F0/91F0/92F0, keys and
code 0x5C) to PrxDecrypter.

It is not the whole fix yet: pspDecryptPRX() tries decryption types 0, 1, 2, 5
and 6, and this needs type 9, which JPCSP passes explicitly. So the call is now
reached and fails cleanly with a logged error instead of trapping, but does not
yet decrypt. Type 9 is a variant of type 2 and is the next job; the notes in
docs/VSHBootInvestigation.md say where it is in JPCSP and how to check a port
(159 bytes out, starting "release:").
